MDC hosts several hunter education skills sessions in northeast Missouri in October

KIRKSVILLE, Mo. -- The Missouri Department of Conservation (MDC) invites the public to finish their hunter education certification in northeast Missouri this October. This training session is the final step to becoming hunter education certified, and the class is designed for participants ages 11 and older. MDC staff will be hosting several events throughout the month.

Oct. 3 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Clarksville Boat Club: Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oYS. Clarksville Boat Club is located at 310 First Street.
Oct. 3 from 1-5 p.m. at Knox County Community Center in Edina: Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oYq. Knox County Community Center is located at 207 North Fourth Street.
Oct. 7 from 6-10 p.m. at MDC Northeast Regional Office in Kirksville: Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oYp. MDC Northeast Regional Office is located at 3500 South Baltimore.
Oct. 8 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at Ruby’s Combative Gym in Hannibal: Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oYN. Ruby’s Combative Gym is located at 2005 Market Street.
Oct. 13 from 5:30-9:30 p.m. at Just As I Am Cowboy Church in Paris: Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oYf. Just As I Am Cowboy Church is located at 23410 Monroe Road 840.
Oct. 17 from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Kahoka: Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oYg. First Baptist Church is located at 363 North Washington Street.
Oct. 21 from 5-9 p.m. at Leonard Community Building in Leonard: Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oYQ. Leonard Community Building is located at 155 East Highway 151.
Oct. 28 from 5:30-9 p.m. at Westran Fire Protection District in Huntsville: Register at http://short.mdc.mo.gov/oYd. Westran Fire Protection District is located at 573 North Main Street.

Prior to attending the class, participants will need to complete the knowledge portion of the certification process. To do so, participants can either complete the online version for a fee or fill out the student manual chapter review questions. Those who choose to fill out the student manual chapter review questions will need to bring the booklet to the event for the instructor to review at no cost. The online knowledge portion and information about the student manuals can be found on MDC’s website at https://short.mdc.mo.gov/ZCt. Student manuals are also available at any MDC office.
